Celebrate 9 Years of Relishments and Enter a Giveaway!

Published on December 26, 2017 By Emily. Updated on December 28, 2017

This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for supporting Relishments!

I am so excited to bring this giveaway to you all today.  This annual giveaway is an opportunity for me to say thank you to all of the awesome readers who have made this site possible for yet another year.  This time last year I was on blog maternity leave and I really appreciate those of you who stuck around while I adjusted to my new life as a mom.  It’s only in the last couple months that I felt like I really hit my stride with blogging again.

This year’s giveaway is, once again, a collection of a few of my favorite things.  If you read this site (or follow Relishments on social media) with any degree of regularity, you know I’m borderline obsessed with Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, all the recipes in Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day and all tea – but especially Harney and Sons.

How to Cook Everything Vegetarian was one of the first cookbooks I used when I started writing Relishments in 2008.  My copy of the book has notes throughout and my own “table of contents” inside the front cover that lists my favorite and most frequently made recipes (among them are waffles, pancakes, sea salt and olive oil bread, creamy polenta).

I actually gave away a copy of How to Cook Everything Vegetarian for my 3rd year celebration giveaway and wasn’t planning to do so again. But then Mark Bittman wrote and released the Completely Revised Tenth Anniversary Edition of How to Cook Everything Vegetarian and I knew I had to share with my readers.  I actually kind of wish I could keep it for myself.  This new book features new recipes, color photographs, more vegan recipes and a chapter on smoothies and teas. The edition I have is great, but this one is wonderfully updated and looks incredible.

If I had to choose a cookbook that’s most affected my cooking, eating and shopping in the last couple years, I would definitely pick Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day.  I haven’t bought a loaf of supermarket sandwich bread since 2013 and the recipes in the book make it so easy to have fresh bread on hand at all times.  Everyone (my 13-month-old daughter, extended family, work colleagues and church friends) I’ve made this bread for has been so impressed and can’t believe that it honestly just takes 5 minutes a day.

As is the case with How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, I’m also sharing a newer edition of this book.  The New Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day is an upgraded version of what’s on my shelf – more recipes, clearer instructions, bigger “Tips and Techniques” and “Ingredients” chapters, and a Frequently Asked Questions section.  It’s gorgeous.

Lastly, this year’s giveaway winner will get a tin of Harney and Sons’ newest blend, Victorian London Fog.  When this tea was announced late this summer (as part of their customer creation contest), I felt like Harney and Sons had designed it just for me; London Fog tea lattes are one of my favorite things.  This blend combines black tea, oolong tea, bergamot oil, lavender and vanilla flavor – it is so good.

Ready for me to stop talking and tell you how to enter? Gladly.

Use the Rafflecopter widget below to submit your entry.  I’ll select a winner on January 4, 2018.

Apparently, in the weirdness that is 2020, posting Apparently, in the weirdness that is 2020, posting to my Instagram feed was one of the things that didn't make the cut. There are more items than I'd prefer in that category, but recently I've felt like I'm beginning to get my feet firmly planted beneath me again. This fall was so busy with learning how to teach remotely and parent 2 children well. I don't anticipate that life will ever feel not busy, but I've been able to carve out some time lately for activities I've been missing. Making bread is one of those activities. Hopefully, more posts in the feed will be more frequent going forward.

#sponsored All the time we've spent at home lately #sponsored All the time we've spent at home lately has definitely had me looking to expand the snack options in my pantry. I jumped at the chance to try these @sunmaid Sour Raisins and they immediately became one of my daughter's favorite snacks. She likes them because they're reminiscent of candy, I like them because they're technically fruit and they come prepackaged for easy snacking and taking on the go. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty they are!

This weekend's weather was amazing and my family e This weekend's weather was amazing and my family embarked on the only way to kick off fall: we went apple picking at Jaeschke Orchards in Adams. The parking lot was full, but out in the orchard we hardly came across any other groups. The trees were heavy with apples and we quickly filled our bag. Looking forward to apples for snacks, pie, crisp and turnovers in the coming weeks.
