A few weeks ago I wrote about how CSA pick ups are different this year. We’re placing orders online weekly for the produce we want, then picking up a pre-packed box at our pick up location in Williamstown. Overall, I like this system, but it was only a matter of time before I forgot to place an order. That time was last week. Part of the problem is that the CSA email newsletters arrive in my inbox on Monday, but I can only place my order between Wednesday and Friday. It’s understandable – the farm has pick ups on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in addition to my Tuesday pick up and that’s a lot to keep track of. At any rate, the emails have a tendency to get buried in my inbox and I forget about them by the end of the week. That’s exactly what happened last week.
Luckily, I knew we were still getting vegetables. My CSA has taken the approach that if you don’t complete your order, you receive a default box of produce. I had no idea what to expect, but hoped it would all be useful.
When I received this week’s CSA newsletter, I used Gmail’s snooze feature to delay it so it would appear at the top of my inbox today. I’ve already placed next week’s order.
