Morgan and I were exchanging comments on each other’s blogs before we met at the Healthy Living Summit. I really enjoy her healthy skin and beauty posts, so I’m thrilled that she’s sharing one of them here. Thanks Morgan!
Hello Relishments fans! I’m Morgan and I blog at Life After Bagels. My usual blogging repertoire is fitness, food, recipes and on Thursdays I blog about healthy skin. In January, I left my career in the beauty business to go back to school full time. That means I get to write about the wonders of makeup and skincare now.
Sometimes I like to go big with makeup and get playful, like this 50’s pin up girl look:
But that’s not my everyday look. Especially now that I’m a student, I’ve kicked my kit of colours to the curb in exchange for a natural look that I can slap on in less than 5 minutes.
Morgan’s Basic Makeup Look:
- Concealer – I’m a little too old for the keg parties, and I don’t stay up late doing homework but I certainly like a little bit of brightening up under the eyes every morning. I use Clinique All About Eyes concealer.
- Blush – I love blush, especially because I’m particularly pale. The best look is to go for something natural, so it looks like you just went for a run in cold weather. I use Bare Escentuals mineral blush.
- Mascara – Actually if you want to be super quick you could just throw on some mascara. I believe that mascara is so so personal, sometimes you have to try a lot before you find one you like. Even if your friend tells you she loves a mascara, it won’t mean you will. I recommend shopping at a retailer that has a very flexible return policy so that you can return a mascara if it’s not for you.
- Eyebrows – This is the most left out part of a makeup routine. It’s true the brows frame the face. I use a pencil but powders are just as good. Stop by a makeup counter or see a beauty advisor for a brow lesson, most retailers will offer this as a complimentary service.
There you have it! Stop on by Life After Bagels on Thursdays to see my Healthy Skin posts and feel free to email me anytime morgan.shuker AT gmail.com.
