As is the case every year, the days after Christmas transport me to a Christmas break that seems like it was lifetimes ago; sitting on the couch in my parents’ house in Maine, 6 months away from my wedding. It was then, largely as a function of my boredom, that I started Relishments.
When I stop and think about all that I’ve experienced because of this site and how far the site has come, I’m always amazed. 2015, my 7th year of blogging, was a pretty great one. The site got a new look and I honed in on a new vision, “Savoring Life in the Berkshires”. Special thanks to Whitney Wright for both helping my redesign my site and for coming up with my new tagline. I really started writing about the Berkshires seriously over the past couple years and I’m excited to bring my readers even more. This year also saw me actually earning money from working directly with advertisers (find out how to advertise on Relishments!) and reviewing some incredible cookbooks. I learned more about making great food, writing quality content and loved being part of the blogging community.
I cannot thank all of you, my readers, enough. Thank you for every time you shared a post, clicked on an ad, liked Relishments posts on Facebook, retweeted my recipes, shared my pins on Pinterest, bought something with my Amazon affiliate links, told your friends about this site or just came by to read a post. It was a great year for Relishments and I’m so excited to see what 2016 has in store.
Though I cannot thank each of you individually, I’m sticking with my tradition of sending a thank you prize to one awesome reader. This year, I’ll be sending a randomly selected reader the following:
One 12-ounce package of Assembly Coffee Roasters Bellwether Blend Coffee (note: these are whole beans, not ground coffee) – read about my experience at the Berkshire Museum Learner’s Lab where I met Julia from Assembly Coffee and learned how to make a decent cup
One box Harney and Sons Earl Grey Supreme Tea tea bags– read my Harney and Sons posts
A copy of The Whole Grain Promise by Robin Asbell – read my review and check out a sample recipe for Cranberry Cornmeal Upside-Down Cake
A copy of Making Dough by Russell Van Kraayenburg – read my review and check out my recipe for Awesome Herb and Cheese Biscuits
