Despite the long weekend, I do not feel as “back in the groove” as my previous post hoped to usher in. Meal planning and making is back on target, but I’m kind of disorganized in the other realms of life. In the past 24 hours I’ve fought with the automated phone system at my bank, dumped a container of flour on the floor, singed the sleeve of my bathrobe and made a very unremarkable galette.
But it’s all okay. Because in the scheme of things, none of the above are really that big a deal. It’s Memorial Day, a day which should render me without anything to complain about. I am extremely appreciative and thankful for the men and women that gave their lives to protect our country.
And, it’s the unofficial kick off to summer. What’s more summer than frozen desserts? I suspect another ice cream/popsicle highlights post will appear on the blog later this summer, but it seems too good to pass up for now.
