Highlights: Tea

Published on December 5, 2010 By Emily. Updated on December 5, 2010

I’ve always been a tea drinker.  I can’t remember a time when I didn’t drink tea. Growing up, my best friend and I frequently had tea parties.  In college, my hot pot was constantly heating water and tea kept me warm and awake.

I used to drink coffee occasionally too, but I realized this summer that I really don’t feel great when I drink coffee.  I haven’t had any since.  And that’s fine with me.  Seems like tea is a lot more interesting anyway.

Tea would also make a great Christmas present!

I still haven’t tried kombucha tea (and don’t really feel driven to do so), but the NY Times has an interesting piece on Beyond Kombucha, one of the bottled kombucha companies.

Julie has a great idea for sharing your favorite teas as Christmas presents.

I think this mug that has a place to tie up your tea bag is a neat idea.  (via The Food Section)

CBS Sunday Morning has a great little piece about the culture of tea.

My favorite teas:

It’s no secret that I love Harney and Sons Tea.  My in-laws introduced it to be a few years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since.  I especially love their tea room in Millerton, NY.  They also just opened a store in SoHo!

Stash Tea is also pretty quality.  If anyone finds me a box of Holiday Chai, I’ll love them forever.  For some reason, its hard to come by around here.

A while back, I bought a sampler of loose rooibos tea from Adagio Teas.  It’s lasted us a long time and its been fun having an assortment of flavors to choose from.  They have really reasonable pricing, too.

What’s your favorite kind of tea?

Also, (unrelated) I’m loving this comic about a food blogger from So Good:

I love tea too. Have you tried Stash’s website?

I think I’m going to set the water on for some tea now.

Favorite Tea? Hum………… Now that’s a hard choice. So many more varieties of tea than there is coffee, If I had to pick it would be Decaf Mint Green Tea by Celestial Seasonings

Apparently, in the weirdness that is 2020, posting Apparently, in the weirdness that is 2020, posting to my Instagram feed was one of the things that didn't make the cut. There are more items than I'd prefer in that category, but recently I've felt like I'm beginning to get my feet firmly planted beneath me again. This fall was so busy with learning how to teach remotely and parent 2 children well. I don't anticipate that life will ever feel not busy, but I've been able to carve out some time lately for activities I've been missing. Making bread is one of those activities. Hopefully, more posts in the feed will be more frequent going forward.

#sponsored All the time we've spent at home lately #sponsored All the time we've spent at home lately has definitely had me looking to expand the snack options in my pantry. I jumped at the chance to try these @sunmaid Sour Raisins and they immediately became one of my daughter's favorite snacks. She likes them because they're reminiscent of candy, I like them because they're technically fruit and they come prepackaged for easy snacking and taking on the go. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty they are!

This weekend's weather was amazing and my family e This weekend's weather was amazing and my family embarked on the only way to kick off fall: we went apple picking at Jaeschke Orchards in Adams. The parking lot was full, but out in the orchard we hardly came across any other groups. The trees were heavy with apples and we quickly filled our bag. Looking forward to apples for snacks, pie, crisp and turnovers in the coming weeks.
