This week’s pick up at Mighty Food Farm yielded eggs, turnips, head lettuce, salad mix (2 items), kale (2 items) and radishes. We’re still limited to 8 items, which given the produce that’s available (lots of greens), is fine with us.
Some of last week’s food was turned into a frittata featuring green garlic and served with a side of “Pods of Joy with Tarragon”—radishes cooked in vinegar and broth and topped with tarragon. (The ones on CHG look much tastier than mine, but these were still pretty good.) I also made Bok Choy with Sesame and Garlic Tofu with the komatsuna we picked up. Overall it was pretty tasty but my tofu came out kind of soggy for some reason. I think I do better baking it in the oven than I do pan frying it.
We just got word that next week we’ll be able to take home our full share of 10 items AND strawberries are in season! I’m so excited!
