From time to time, blogs post lists of their must-have pantry items. This is mine. These are the items we always have in the house; I stock up whenever they’re on sale (to a fault, sometimes).
Pantry:
whole wheat pasta
canned tomatoes
garlic
rice
baking staples: AP Flour, whole wheat flour, white and brown sugar, corn meal
vegetable broth
soy sauce (Do you keep your soy sauce in the fridge or the pantry?)
onions
assorted dried and canned beans
olive oil
Fridge/Freezer:
yeast
Parmesan cheese
frozen vegetables
eggs
butter
bread
yogurt
On a related note, I’ve been meaning to reorganize my pantry (seen above) for quite some time now…
Any organizational tips?
What items do you always have in your pantry or fridge?
Our staples are pretty much the same as yours. We also always make sure to have vegetable oil, breadcrumbs, oatmeal, and italian seasoning mix, and frozen ground chicken. All the spices are in the spice cabinet – which is pretty insanely packed and prob due for a photo included in a post soon. Bread = breadbox. Soy sauce = cabinet.
We usually have all of those things (except the chicken) in the pantry too, but we don’t use them regularly so I decided not to list them. Our spice collection is a little out of control as well-currently cumin and cinnamon are getting a lot of use.
Thanks for your vote on the soy sauce issue :)
