It’s hard to believe that I’m over a year into my motherhood journey. Baby E has definitely kept me busy over the past 13 months (we’re currently in the “can’t take our eyes off her for 2 seconds or she gets herself in trouble” stage).
It’s the perfect time of year for me to share some of my favorite baby products. Whether you’re doing some Christmas shopping for a little one or have a baby shower to attend, I hope this collection is useful.
Matimati Baby Bandana Drool Bibs
I bought these bibs on a Prime Day whim last summer and I have definitely gotten my money’s worth. Baby E is a drooler and these bibs are amazing – they don’t soak through, she’s never gotten one off, they still fit with room to grow and they’re adorable. I’ve since purchased them for multiple people as gifts, added a second set for Baby E and recommended them countless times.
Melissa & Doug 22-Piece Steep and Serve Wooden Tea Set
Let’s be honest, I wanted this for E because I have a little bit of a tea obsession. My sister gave it to her for her birthday and now she’s often found carrying a teacup or pot around with her. It’s very cute. I imagine this toy will get a lot of use over the years and I’m looking forward to a lot of tea parties.
Nenu Teether Bud
In our house, this toy is affectionately referred to as “the blue man”. We received him as a gift from my awesome friend Kelly and Baby E – who never cared much for other teether toys or pacifiers – is a big fan. It’s great for teething and really easy to hold on to. Bonus points for being so easy to wash.
Fisher-Price Auto Rock ‘n Play Sleeper
The Rock ‘n Play has made it onto most baby gift suggestion lists, and for good reason. For the first couple weeks, when E was eating every couple hours and no one was sleeping, the Rock ‘n Play was one of the few places she’d rest. We used it as our second bassinet, keeping it on the first floor so that she was always in sight. E also enjoyed hanging out in it when I needed my hands free, which made life in the early days much easier.
HALO SleepSack Swaddle
We made it a whole 3 weeks with Baby E before we added a few of these to our arsenal. It was amazing how quickly she settled down and went to sleep after we swaddled her in a SleepSack, which meant lots more sleep for us.
Indestructible Books
We only have one of these books and I would never have bought one, probably, but they are the real deal. E is not particularly nice to her toys and though this book is a bit wrinkled, it hasn’t sustained any damage. These books would be a really fun, unique gift to give to a new baby.
Is Your Mama a Llama?
I had never heard of this book before I received it at one of my baby showers. Now, it’s one of my favorites. How can you go wrong with a book that has lines like “‘Is your mama a llama,'” I asked my friend Rhonda. ‘No, she is not,’ is how Rhonda responded”?
Crib Wrap 3-Piece Rail Cover Set
We waited until Baby E was 11 months old before we bought this and by then it was too late. Apparently, once babies can stand and have teeth, they’re very inclined to spend time chewing on the rails of their crib. This rail cover set was easy to install and will save the parts of the crib she hasn’t ruined yet.
