My Favorite Recipes of 2024

Published on December 29, 2024 By Emily. Updated on December 29, 2024

This year was not high in the number of new recipes I tried, which led to a low number of new recipes I was impressed by. I also took shockingly few photos of the new recipes I tried. Nevertheless, I did try some great new recipes this year and I’m happy to share them here — and the original posts have plenty of pictures. Without further ado, my favorite recipes of 2024:

Simple Blueberry Basque Cheesecake – Half Baked Harvest

This summer I hosted a cookbook club where we made Half Baked Harvest recipes to share monthly. In addition to being a great time (and something I hope to write more about one day), I discovered this fantastic recipe for Blueberry Basque Cheesecake. I can’t recall ever having or making a Basque cheesecake before, but this one uses puff pastry as the crust. By design, the cheesecake is rustic which means you don’t have to be fussy or worry about the cake cracking. The crust on the bottom was a little tough to eat compared to a graham cracker crumb – a knife was definitely required – but I’d make it again for sure. It’s a recipe for anytime, but especially appeals to me for summer.

Lemon Spaghetti with Tuna and Breadcrumbs – What’s Gaby Cooking

I am always on the hunt for interesting, flavorful meals that my children will actually eat. To my surprise and delight, everyone liked that one. I used more basic ingredients than the recipe called for – solid white tuna and pimento stuffed olives – and it was still delicious and very easy to put together. This one will definitely be making appearances on our dinner table again soon.

Best Greek Salad – Delish

I first made this recipe in 2023 for our end of year potluck at school, but I left it off last year’s list for some reason. Since then, I’ve re-made this salad for nearly every summertime event I’ve needed a dish for because folks really like it and it can be made ahead. This Greek Salad takes advantage of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, along with feta, Kalamata olives, red onion and a yummy dressing.

Lemon Herb Pasta Salad with Marinated Chickpeas – Pinch of Yum

Another entry in the lemon pasta category, this one features herbs, chickpeas and parmesan cheese. Though my kids would probably enjoy this dish as well, I’ve mostly employed this recipe as a lunch for my husband and I to take to work. It’s great warmed or cold and makes several servings at once.
