Brian and I spent the holiday weekend in Maine. We enjoyed a simple but delicious Thanksgiving feast on Thursday consisting of my family’s standards: turkey, gravy, sausage stuffing, rolls, baked sweet potatoes, pickles, olives, gravy and canned cranberry sauce. From time to time, I think about trying out new Thanksgiving recipes, but it’d have to be for a different occasion, because I can’t imagine the holiday without the food I grew up eating every year.
We also took in as much of the scenery as we could. I wish we’d had more time to be outdoors (the weather was beautiful), but I always wish we had more time in Maine. Hopefully we’ll make it back for a while this summer.
It was a really great weekend. We hung out with my parents, my sister and her boyfriend. We played games, went to see the Muppet movie, relaxed, outlet shopped, ate out, jogged and opened Christmas presents. All would have been perfect if our rear windshield hadn’t decided to shatter shortly after leaving the house, for reasons that are still unclear.
Luckily, I have the best father in the world and we’re currently borrowing one of his vehicles, as ours is in Maine awaiting a new window. It’s always something, I suppose.
That turkey looks really good!
I had a wonderful weekend, too.
Broken window? Christmas presents at Thanksgiving? What’s going on over there?! :) Kidding. Hope you had a great one and the window gets fixed shortly.
Thanks Lauren! It’s all fixed now…and I like to start opening presents at Thanksgiving and continue throughout the month of December. It makes the holiday last even longer :)
It was great having you all here…and it’s good now that your car is better…you’ll see it soon.
