Earlier this month, I shared my 2019 words of the year: rest and community. This year, to help me better live these words, I want to get some education and perspectives around both of them. I’m sure I won’t get to every book on the lists below (I have read all the articles!), but I’m going to start interlibrary loaning them and adding to my ideas of rest and community.
If you’ve read any of these books or you have other suggestions, please let me know!
Rest

The Art of Rest: Faith to Hit Pause in a World that Never Stops by Adam Mabry

Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity by Keri Wyatt Kent

The Radical Pursuit of Rest: Escaping the Productivity Trap by John Koessler

Soul Rest: Reclaim Your Life. Return to Sabbath by Curtis Zackery
Why Are Young People Pretending to Love Work? – NY Times
Put Yourself Into Low Power Mode – It’s The Perfect Way To Find Calm – Huffington Post UK
Community

The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why it Matters by Priya Parker

In case it’s helpful, I’ve listed all these books together on Goodreads and I’ll continue to add titles as I discover them.
