Never before have I seen so many blood orange recipes. I haven’t looked to see if anyone near us sells blood oranges, but the more recipes I see, the more interested I am in finding out if the fruit is worth eating. I did try the new Chobani flavor, but it wasn’t life changing. I think I’m more of a blueberry or raspberry traditionalist.
According to my receipt, I saved 43% on groceries today. Granted, I spent more than usual in order to do so, but the supermarket was running really excellent sales. Also, it’s generally a bad choice to go food shopping on the Saturday afternoon before the Super Bowl.
When I went to our local food co-op to buy the vital wheat gluten to make vegan sausages the other day, I had to ask where it was. Not because it was hard to find, but because every time I go I fail at finding something obvious. Last time I was at the store I it was hazelnuts. (More about that vegan sausage on Monday!)
I need to come up with a good meal for Valentine’s Day. Or at least a good dessert. For a night when I have a meeting after school and work the next morning. Suggestions?
The co-op sells blood oranges too :-)
Yeah, but think of how long it would take me to find them! :)
Pavlova is a good Valentine’s Day dessert! You can make them ahead and just add whipped cream and fresh fruit before serving. Or….your homemade sorbet is delicious! How about raspberry with kiwi and whipped cream? Brian will love whatever you make!!
valentines day desserts were two weeks ago recipe round up on HLB, and dinners is the current one!!
