It’s hard to believe that I’ve been writing in this corner of the internet for over 10 years. I’ve been posting on Relishments since the final week of 2008 – longer than I’ve been
If nothing less, this experience has surpassed my expectations.
I didn’t expect that I’d travel around the country to meet other bloggers and friends who I only met because of this site. I didn’t expect that the owner of an ice cream shop in my parent’s town would recognize me from reading my review. I didn’t expect that I’d get the opportunity to review products from national brands or be a Healthy Living Blogs staffer. Who could know that I’d be featured in a PopSugar article or be a recipe tester for a cookbook?
The blogging landscape has also changed dramatically since 2009. In 2009, there was no Instagram or Pinterest. Facebook business pages were barely existent. Google Reader was still around and blogs were a big deal. However, no one talked about being an “influencer” or “content creator”. Bloggers didn’t create and sell courses or ebooks. It was like a different world.
I know I’ve had a lot of readers come and go in the past 10 years, but I also know that there are a few of you who have been with me since the very beginning and have read every word I’ve ever written. I also know there are some more recent followers who are incredibly supportive and thoughtful. Some readers even support me on Patreon. There’s no reason to write in this space without readers and I’m so grateful for everyone who has ever clicked on a post.
Thanks for 10 great years! I can’t wait to see what the future holds. In the meanwhile, I’m happy to share my gratitude with a celebration giveaway.
