To celebrate it’s 55th birthday. Pizza Hut pizzas are available for $5.55. IHOP is also turning 55, but the specialty pancakes they’re offering to celebrate are much less appealing to me than pizza.
While we’re on the subject of birthdays, China’s plastic-bag ban just turned 5. I’ve never lived in a place with a bag ban, but I think they’re really interesting. And the huge collection of bags I have in my closet would appreciate it.
There were bag bans in CO. Paid .20 for a paper bag in Aspen. (We had no cloth or plastic bags in the rental car.) No plastic bags in Boulder,either. And everywhere there was a trash can, there was a container for recycling right next to it.
