It’s hard to believe that a week from today most of the Christmas festivities will be over. I feel like this season has been both long and short at the same time and I really wish time would stop for awhile so I could come close to catching up with all of the things that need to get done this week (several of which are very important and not even Christmas related, which is aggravating me to no end because I’d rather be putting my time and energy into Christmas things)
So, this week’s highlights will attempt to not add anything else to your to do lists. I got some feedback last week that my cookie highlights simply added to the number of cookies people felt compelled to make and I don’t want to be responsible for that. My own “to bake” list has been changing daily for about 3 weeks. The oven’s going to get a bit of a workout between now and this weekend.
Let’s start with something I hope you enjoy as much as I did. This video combines a few of my favorite things: flash mobs, Carol of the Bells and Star Wars. Enjoy:

Need more Star Wars in your Christmas? Try making these Star Wars paper snowflakes that were featured on Bit Rebels (or just enjoy looking at them).
One of my favorite blogs is Daily Infographic and they’ve had a few great Christmas infographics, including:
One more infographic, this one from Grist: “What is Santa’s Carbon Footprint?”
Over on EPBOT, Jen posted an explanation of how she created her steampunk Christmas tree. I’m not interested in steampunk, but I’m always fascinated by the things she makes. The tree is no exception.
Take a break from all your hard work and take a mental_floss quiz. Can you name all 12 things from The Twelve Days of Christmas in less than 5 minutes? (It took me a minute and twenty seconds. Let me know if you’re faster!)
Mental_floss also has some great trivia posts:

Finally, to start the week off right and to get into the true Christmas spirit, you NEED to watch this Advent Conspiracy video. It really makes me think every time (especially given the introduction I just wrote for this post).
